GNLU is one of the few NLUs that offers a substantial fee concession for students with state domicile. Candidates with a valid Gujarat domicile certificate issued by the competent state authority pay a reduced tuition rate — typically Rs. 35,000–40,000 less per year compared to the General category slab. Over the 5-year programme, this adds up to a saving of approximately Rs. 1.75–2 lakh.
To claim the concession, you must submit the domicile certificate during document verification at admission. The university verifies the certificate against state records and applies the concessional slab accordingly. Students from outside Gujarat, including NRIs and foreign nationals, are not eligible for this concession.

The total fee for the 5-year BA LLB (Hons.) programme at GNLU is approximately Rs. 11.5–12 lakh over five years, inclusive of tuition, hostel, mess, examination, and miscellaneous charges. General category students pay the higher slab; Gujarat domicile students receive a meaningful concession.
Yes. Students with Gujarat domicile are eligible for a fee concession on tuition. The concession typically reduces annual tuition by Rs. 20,000–40,000 depending on the category and notification. Eligible candidates must submit a valid domicile certificate issued by the competent state authority at the time of admission.
Yes. All BA LLB students at GNLU are required to reside in on-campus hostels in Attalika Avenue, Gandhinagar. Hostel fees cover shared accommodation and are billed annually alongside tuition.
Yes. Merit-based scholarships are available to top CLAT rankers admitted to GNLU, along with need-based financial aid for students from economically weaker sections and complete fee waivers for SC/ST candidates as per government norms.
For General category admission to GNLU's BA LLB programme, the CLAT cutoff rank has historically been in the 200–600 band over the last three cycles, depending on the number of seats and domicile reservation impact. State-domicile cutoffs are usually more forgiving.
GNLU's annual fee (approximately Rs. 2.3–2.4 lakh for General students) is in line with other top-tier NLUs such as NLSIU, NALSAR, NUJS and NLU Delhi. After the Gujarat domicile concession, state-domicile students pay noticeably less than at comparable institutions.
